Half Marathon Finish

Running Accomplishments:

Various races, mostly 5 and 10k's, over the last 17 years with a 7 or 8 miler thrown in here or there. 2008 did my first 1/2 marathon. I've run pregnant (a couple times), with a live turkey, wearing a tree skirt and dressed as Mrs. Claus (won 1st place in costume division...and an ornament), and as a leprechan (robbed of 1st place by a stinky pot'o gold who WALKED the race...BUT  I made the newspaper!)

Short-Term Running Goals:

2009 Nov.-complete second 1/2 marathon, hopefully decrease my time by 10 minutes. Dec.-5k race come in under 27 min., hopefully by 25 min. (And retain my first place title in costume division!)

2010 Jan.-brave the cold again for NewYears Day 5 miler and hopefully place. Time will depend on Dec. 5k finish. March-Shamrock 5m Run-Win costume division ...and improve my time. June-Compete in local town road race (7.2m) and come in under a 1:05 or better.

Other goals: increase weekly milage, GET FASTER (working at getting to a pace that does not make my husband feel like he's running with his grandma!)working towards eventually doing a full marathon (oh yeah, and  beating that stupid pot'o gold!) Did I say get faster?

Long-Term Running Goals:

Complete a full Marathon somewhere fun or beautiful or both.

Run the Boston Marathon.

Run to win (probably will be 80+plus division but I'll take it!)

Go on a running vacation with my husband, where we run from point to point. (It'll be a few years down the road!)

Keep running til' I get to heaven-Lord willing!

(Oops! I almost forgot..beat that pot 'o gold!)

Personal:

Married, six kids, three cats, two bunnies, one puppy (who runs with me), and one fish (who does not run with me). My interests are multifacited but in regards to running I enjoy the races where I get to dress up...at least that I know I can win...usually!

Pr on half-marathon- great course, great day, great race!  And my husband did not end up in the medical tent. :) (Did not eat jelly beans...don't like to eat and run but had them just in case. Drank gatorade 3x throughout race...this helped!)
